I’m excited to announce that I will be hosting my first Quilt Along! I’m finishing up the pattern, and taking lots of photos to help you along the way. The pattern, “Just Buzzing Through”, includes instructions for both a throw-size quilt and a baby quilt, so, if this is your first time joining a Quilt Along, it’s a very doable project. The PDF pattern will be available for purchase, on my website, this Friday, May 3rd. The Quilt Along is free and will begin on the following Friday, May 10th.
Here is the Quilt Along Schedule for “Just Buzzing Through”
Week One – Getting Started – Gather Your Supplies
Week Two – Cutting
Week Three – Piecing the Units
Week Four – Assemble the Blocks (I have a surprise planned for this week!)
Week Five – Assemble the Quilt Top
Week Six – Basting and Machine Quilting (I’ll show you exactly how I quilted this on my domestic sewing machine. If you’ve been hesitant to try it, this is a great quilt for your first machine quilting project!)
Week Seven – Binding Your Quilt
Visit lookoutmountainquilter.com and subscribe to my blog. Each week, I will send to your inbox, an announcement that another step on this Quilt Along journey has been posted. The posts will remain on my website, so you can join in the Quilt Along at any time.
If you’re on Facebook, join our Lookout Mountain Quilter Group, and share photos of your progress! It’s always encouraging and inspirational to see what others are making!
“Just Buzzing Through” is shown here in red and white, but you can make it in any color combination you choose.

A two-color quilt doesn’t have to be only two fabrics. This pattern is perfect for fat quarters, or as a scrap buster. Here are some other color placement options.

Using fat quarters or scraps can really add pizazz to you quilt!

Today is a good day to consider joining a Quilt Along!
So, join the fun, and let’s Quilt Along together!
Happy quilting!
Diane
