The last weather report I’d heard said we might get some snow flurries Friday night into Saturday. I thought, “Yay! I love to see any snow falling! Maybe we’ll get at least a dusting.”
Well, when this South Florida born and raised gal woke up this morning, and looked out the window, this is what I saw…
We had about 1 1/4 ” on the ground and it was still falling. It’s a fluffy, damp snow that is sticking to everything. Beautiful!
I wanted to run out and play in it, but was scheduled to work in town. Drat!
The drive down the mountain and in to work was breathtaking. I NEVER get tired of seeing the snow!
Around 11:00AM, some gap (mountain access) roads were closed, so I left work early to make it home before they were all closed.
This is the view from my front porch now.
We’ve got about 3 inches on the ground.
So, the blinds in my sewing room are pulled up and I’m working on some machine quilting. I can periodically gaze out the window at the glorious winter wonderland that is our little farm.
This is what I’m working on this snowy afternoon.
It’s a Christmas tree skirt for one of our daughters.
My stitches are getting more consistent. Yay!
Well, I’m going to get back to quilting. I want to take advantage of this unexpected afternoon off.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day!
Diane
Thanks for the beautiful pictures. As always you are an inspiration to me. I look forward to more.
Thanks, Vickie!
There is beauty in each season, but Winter is my favorite because of the possibility of snow!
